Important Things to Know for Your Road Trip in Australia
So you’re visiting Australia? There’s so much to see and do, but what are the things you really need to know before you visit the Great Downunder?
Australia was made for road trips. Do you like getting in a car and driving FOREVER? Then Australia has you sorted. It’s one of the only places on earth you can get in a car and drive for days, cross climates, and still not even begin to see everything. Even if you pick just one state, Australia is huge and your roadtrip has got to be epic for you to start to see it all.
Every city is a different experience. Whether you like road trips or not, you’re going to want to check out some of Australia’s major cities. But which is going to give you the best idea of what Australia really is? None. Every major city in Australia is different, from Melbourne to Brisbane, Perth to Hobart. No where is quite the same, the people, the places, the experiences are all new and exciting wherever you go. And that’s what makes a trip around Australia so special.
The wildlife is out of this world. Sure, you hear a lot about the deadly animals you can find in Australia, the spiders and snakes. But you’re unlikely to ever come into any real danger from an animal in Australia. The Great Downunder might be known for its deadly creatures, but most of the time they like to keep to themselves. It’s the cute and cuddlies you need to watch out for. There are wallabies, koalas and more just ready to cross your path, whether you visit a nature reserve, or are just driving down an Australian highway. Keep your eyes peeled and don’t forget to say hi to our fluffiest locals.
Sun, sun, sun! Australia is the place to come for sun and surf, but be careful too. You need to pack your sunscreen! There’s a hole in the ozone here and the UV levels are much higher than other places, so always be sure to slip on your sunscreen and slap on a hat. Once you have sun safety sorted, prepare to make the most of Australia’s majestic sun drenched landscape, with beautiful beaches, incredible hiking, and more as you drive across this amazing country.
Drive on the left. That’s right, in Australia we drive on the left! Keep that in mind, read up on our road safety rules, and you’ll be fine. Hop in a car and take your time to discover the best road tripping country there is.
